Bio
Gregori Hofmann left a small surfer town in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa to expand his musical horizons. Now living in London, within the space of 5 years he went from being an unknown on the scene to being a regular bassist for some of the biggest artists in the U.K. Having performed on stage at many of Europe’s most prestigious venues and festivals, Greg has also recorded with many acts across the genres. Greg has also featured on TV and Radio Shows for both the BBC and ITV as well as playing in Musical Theatre.
Greg has studied music intensively at The University of West London where while on the Diploma he was awarded Bass Guitarist of the Year. Now having completed his Bmus(hons) Greg hopes to share his knowledge through his website and at schools and colleges in London.
Greg also plays and studies Double Bass under the guidance of Neil Charles (Terence Blanchard, Jack Dejohnette, Charles Mingus Big Band, Soweto Kinch, Zed-U)
Greg has recently been playing with Marcus Foster, Rick Astley and Noush Skaugen as well as being a member and writing lessons for all instruments on the revolutionary Gospelchops.com.
Never feeling fully satisfied with being a sideman, Greg now fronts his own group, The Gregori Hofmann Trio who have released their debut album ‘An Offering’ to amazing reviews and are already looking forward to touring the U.K, Turkey, South Africa and the U.S in 2o12
